What To Expect

Your journey into Denali National Park starts with pickup from your hotel. Once on the road, you and your small group will follow your guide into one of the largest, wildest national parks there is—Denali has no readerboard-lined trails, no crowded roads. It’s 6.1 million acres of wild.Your guide will take you into this Alaskan landscape for roughly 3 hours, hiking at a doable pace of 1mph (1.6/kmh), frequently stopping for photos, chatting, and even foraging, if in season. Bring sturdy shoes, as you’ll walk on “social” trails over roots, rocks, and mud. You’ll see the tundra, taiga, the boreal forest, glacial rivers, and—with any luck—the mountain itself. After you’ve learned all about this wild wonder (and photographed it), it’s back to your hotel near Denali National Park.
